my bumbling bundle of joy

And Nathan walks!

Friends tell us this is quite a feat for a 10 month old baby. We really thank God that he is developing so well! It is really is hilarious watching him walking haphazardly before falling on his bum. Maybe I will burn off more calories from chasing him around now. Haha!

proud mama,

Eve of Christmas Eve

Phew! The last packages were sent out today! I feel totally relieved that I can finally clear the dining table of the last vestiges of my beads and bobs and enjoy the Christmas hols :) Traditionally I like to take on more orders than I'd planned to and then spend the days lead up to Christmas wishing I hadn't! Haha... But yes thankfully the crazy mad rush is over and I am looking forward to spending some quality time with the hubby and son :)
Chris and Natalie, Nathan and myself had a much needed break from busy-ness this afternoon when we headed over to Trisha's for a playdate with little John and it was soooo much fun! It's always entertaining to see little people interact with each other while us mummies can just relax and chit-chat without having to worry about our bubs being too noisy, too drooly, too messy etc. etc. cos we know everyone understands!
It's Christmas Eve tomorrow, do you have any plans? We will be off to Chris' yet again for her yummy cooking - thanks babe for always inviting us over! - and already my tummy is growling in anticipation! We will also spend the day preparing Christmas Eve dinner and the turkey for Christmas Day. And perhaps some last minute wrapping and touching up of the tree. And maybe that hot cuppa chai latte I've been dreaming of with my Bill Bryson book. Can't wait!!!

Happy Christmas everyone!

Tis the weekend before Christmas!

We are off to a Christmas party in the next half hour so here's a quick update on what's been added to the shop over the last couple of days!
{Ginger earrings}

Bourbon Rose has been sold, I'm afraid, but you can still check it out for some floral prettiness this rainy Saturday. Ginger and Ellie Nellie are still up for grabs if you're doing some last minute Christmas shopping! I've just spent the last week ticking off my list and the whole morning wrapping gifts to my heart's content heh. And of cos a long playtime in bed snuggling with daddy and little man under the duvet :)

Hope you guys have a lovely warm weekend filled with good ole festive cheer!

yummy food here we come,

Smug Mug

Seriously this is too cute!
That main picture in the middle? Priceless.
All thanks to Val who captured the moment of smugness on his round face!
And this cool little collage? The perks of having a godma in vacation mode :)
Thanks babe for doing this up!

Can't believe the little guy is turning 10 months old this week... geez... guess it's time for some overdue babyproofing! The chomper is a tissue monster. That, or Ikea catalogues. Leave him alone with a box of tissue for just a moment and you'll turn round to see him sitting in a pile of shredded snow. Possibly with some stray bits in his drooly mouth. Extra fibre never hurts I say!

hiding the tissue boxes in sight,

O Christmas Star!

I made this necklace for myself a couple of weeks back while getting all excited thinking about Christmas. Something about the soft blend of tangy lemon burst with soft pinks and whites and of course the mix of bright silver amidst the gold really appealed to the romantic in me heh. Just thought I would offer it online too for the festive season! In case there are closet star fanatics like me out there too :p

The version I'm listing in my shop is identical to the one you see above except for the sterling star charms which will be more petite and more 3dimensional than the ones in my necklace. I hope you'll enjoy wearing these cute stars close to your heart too!

The Etoiles Necklace is available here now :)

Shop update - 13 Dec

In case you're wondering, yes I'm back from my Bintan getaway but the lack of updates has been cos the bub and I succumbed yet again to the flu! That kept me out of action for the week which is frankly quite annoying since we'd only just recovered from the last bout. This time we're taking no chances so it's straight to the doc instead of "waiting to see if it gets worse". Poor nathan is still sniffly and snotty but otherwise happily taking his first steps and waving bye bye to everyone in sight. Such a cutie! As for mama here, I practically finished a box of panadol flu max before kleenex stopped being my best friend.

This weekend has also been packed with a friend's baby girl's first month celebration and an old friend's wedding! All that buzz is seriously tiring us out! Thankfully I was able to finish some pieces last week before the flu hit so I have added these new items to the shop today! I will be taking a break come the next weekend to get the house in order for Christmas and spend some time with the family. Looking forward to some nice ham and pudding! Hope you're having a blast planning the hols too! :)

Hello weekend!

{Bali 2005}

Just a quick note to say I will be on a weekend getaway to Bintan from today till Sunday so I may not be able to reply emails till Monday. This week was a mad rush to get all the current Christmas orders completed in time for shipping before I leave and I'm pleased to say all packages have been mailed out/will be mailed out this morning!

I have been looking forward to this short trip sans the hubby and bub though I will miss them sooooo much.... may I add that it was my lovely hubby who suggested I go without them and even offered to sponsor my holiday! He thought I would have a better time with just my girl pal and said he could have some father-bonding time with Nathan while I was away. How could you not love this guy??

So yeah have a fabulous weekend folks, I'm off for some snuggling and giggles with my little boy before I leave him for some mummy recharge time this weekend! :)

hoping for some sun today!

What the little guy has been up to

Little Nathan had his first major illness a couple of weeks back which was also the first time he was properly sick since he was born. What started out as a seemingly harmless little temperature from teething turned out to be something more sinister.
He became very listless, rejected his porridge at meal-times and even went off his milk. We took him to the doc's thinking it was something minor and was given some meds for his cough and runny nose. But a few days later he still hadn't gotten better so we had to go back to the doc's again. At this point the poor little guy had lost his voice and had such an awfully runny and blocked nose that he could not sleep lying down at all and whimpered constantly through the nights. It was heartbreaking.
This time he was diagnosed with a lung infection and was so choked with phlegm he had to be put on the nebuliser every 4 hours for 4 days. Those were difficult times as any parent who has had to nebulise their child (for the 1st time at least) can identify with.
A week later (and after much struggles and tears!), he was soooo much better I didn't mind that he passed his bug to me!
After he recovered, he became his cheerful self again and even speeded up on his baby steps "training" as if to make up for lost time.
You learn that the smile on your child's face cannot be taken for granted.
And that a cute toothy grin is priceless!
A happy baby = a happy mummy :)

thankful for the bub noise and all,

Another shop update

As you can tell I'm busy making up for time lost in the last few couple of weeks!

(I must admit they were finished way earlier but had to wait around for a bit :p )

{ Petite Fleur - Smoky Rose }

I've run out of the original red roses but these deep pink roses were a lovely alternative :)

{ Petite Fleur - Bella Rose }

Something a little more goth and twilight-y!

{ Little Swallow & the Magic Toadstool }

And a quirky fun necklace...
I can't believe this sold before I even updated on the blog!

And to my friends in the good ole US of A, happy thanksgiving!
Let's count our blessings everyday :)

Latest batch of goodies

New additions to the shop!

( It's a fairly big update too if I daresay. )

{Anne ring}

I have some other stuff on the way which I'd completed before Nathan and I were sick, and yes both of us have been ill for the longest time! I will have some updates on what has been going on at home in case you were wondering about the absence of posts, slow communication etc. etc. It's not been the easiest of time but I'm glad we're coming out the other side and also grateful for the patience and understanding of some lovely ladies who have been waiting for their purchases. Right now I just want to say a big thank you for bearing with me! And I hope you guys will like this batch of goodies while I head back to the desk to finish up the rest! Ah how I love this job! :)

Nighty-night,

Sparkle and shine!

Argh!! It's mid week already and I still haven't done half the stuff I needed to do! Does that sound like the story of your life too? I spent a good part of yesterday photographing the new necklaces but a nagging part of me just thinks they could be better! Will probably have to do another photoshoot before they are ready to meet the world. Meanwhile I'm still occupied with finishing custom orders and coming up with new rings for the Christmas season but here's a new shining pair of earrings for the shop:
{Clarisse}

:: available here ::

Love the sparkly colours! Hope you do too!

How have you been?

{chirpy colours to start the new week!}

Hello there! I apologise for the long absence from this blog the past week or more, a monster of a persistent cough and sore throat has seen me trudging to the doctor twice for stronger meds each time and kept me away from work longer than I expected. So relieved to announce I'm finally no longer Darth Vader! The weekend was a lovely time of rest and recovery and lots of sleep in bed. In fact, I felt so much better I was able to check out MAAD at Red Dot with my gal pal Eileen and I tell you it was so worth the trip!

Apart from catching up with old vendor friends and scoring some amazing Christmas pressie buys, I had the privilege of attending a little letterpress workshop session by Mein - Elaine had actually brought along a real life breathing letterpress machine to MAAD! I've always been intrigued by the art of letterpress and how wonderful it was to have a glimpse into this mysterious world (ok mysterious at least to us this side of the globe) and actually have a go at it! Words cannot describe my excitement and thrill in finding someone so friendly and generous in sharing her experiences in letterpress. Thank you Elaine! You're a gem! :)

While my top priority this week is to finish the stack of way overdue custom orders (yikes! thank you for being so patient ladies!) , my trusty babysitter a.k.a. The Grandma is unable to help me with her usual hours this week so I foresee an interesting time ahead with a super-duper cranky teething bub and finally launching some new necklaces and rings in time for Christmas ! The original big plan was to surprise with a MAAD appearance in December cos I really miss the interaction and fun of meeting peeps and friends and to put some new packaging and booth ideas into action ... but... plans change and I'm off on a weekend beach retreat instead! hehe... please don't hate me... I will still make your online purchases sweeter as planned :)

December is traditionally a busy time for the family and this year is gonna be extra special cos it's Nathan's first Christmas with us! We have some grand plans on how to celebrate and can't wait! Hope you are looking forward to some special times ahead too!

xoxo

Spirited Sonja

{Sonja}

Something sassy to spice up the coming weekend!
(Only 2 pairs available)

Can you believe losing contact with a friend for 2 years only to realise you both have had children in the time that'd past when you finally get back in touch? Not to mention that the kiddos were born on the same day!

This really happened to me and Grace of Nitty Gritty fame, no kidding. Though I've only see her little girl in photos, it's pretty evident she has inherited her mommy's zesty charm and bubbliness. So it's only appropriate I name this pair after Sonja when I needed a name that conveyed these exuberant qualities!

And a little note: I am limited to 25 item listings in my bigcartel shop so I tend to remove pieces that have been sold out to make room for newer items. I put up pictures on my blog and flickr album when I add new creations to the bigcartel shop so if you are keen on previously listed items but no longer see them in the online shop, please feel free to drop me a line to see if I can restock them! And a small reminder that the default prices in the shop are in USD but you can see the price in SGD under each individual listing if you opt to purchase via local bank transfer.

Hope you're having a lovely Thursday! It's Matt's birthday today but sadly no, we are not able to have an intimate celebration today due to commitments. I'll make it up to you honey! Nathan's especially thrilled to celebrate daddy's birthday for the first time - he's gonna be all wrapped up with ribbons and bows for daddy! Haha!

baby overdose

WARNING: Many many baby pictures ahead. Viewer discretion advised.
Just-woke-up face

in matchy stripes with aunt jenna

with uncle weijie, aunt jasmine and friend wayne who's 3months older but way bigger!

lost in thought

Little chipmunk

face of pure innocence...

... and a funny one here!

daddy's little guy...

and mommy's little boy.
...and a cute butt to end the baby tour today.

I can hardly believe the bub is already 8 months old!

He can crawl real fast, pull himself up on pretty much anything and play footie (assisted of cos!) with daddy. But strangely enough there isn't any sign of a budding tooth yet. Guess my mammaries are still safe for the time being. Haha!
