A Wedding

Last Saturday was the long-awaited wedding of one of my closest friends and I couldn't be more thrilled she asked me to help her with creating simple monogram pearl bracelets for her bridal party. Congratulations my dear HL!

It's been a while since the family last took pretty photos so this was a opportune moment while we were all decked in fancy outfits. I think the kids are now of a suitable age to be hired out as a 2-in-1 page boy  flower girl combo. With a little bit of training, they could probably kick ass. Any takers out there?

Peacock Rose - SGD 59 - Sold

Petite deep pink Japanese roses in a bouquet of vibrant colours - amethyst and kyanite briolettes, freshwater pearls, green onyx, phrenite, apatite, rhodochrosite and vesuvianite. Earrings measure approx. 3cm in length.

Summer Lake - SGD 59 - Sold

The pastel compatriot of Peacock Rose, Summer Lake has butter yellow japanese roses, blue topaz and peridot briolettes as well as freshwater pearls, citrine, tanzanite and pink opal. Earrings measure approx. 3cm in length. Only pair!

The Regent - SGD 118 - Sold

The Regent is the big sister to my Wellesley Girl necklace from here. 

It features a stunning 1940s-50s vintage brooch from the same set as the vintage earring-turned-pendant in Wellesley Girl, hailing all the way from an antiques arcade in the UK. The large emerald cut-like amber crystal is just beautiful with the the prettiest floral leafy details and smaller rhinestones surrounding it. The chain portion is made up of antiqued-brassy filigree connectors and rondelles of hessonite, citrine, garnet and peach moonstone with golden autumn pearls. Strangely enough, looking at it this time reminds me of the ornate jewellery worn by aristocratic palace women (thanks to all those period dramas!) so I've included it as part of the :: Imperial :: collection :)

This necklace measures approx. 18" in length with 14k gold-filled wirework and lobster clasp closure.

Yehe Nara - SGD 135 - Sold

I love a good chinese period drama because oh boy, all the bright colours and intricate details of the costumes sure make me go wild with inspiration! Inspired by Manchurian/Mongolian grassland outfits, I went for a bolder colour scheme with multi-coloured tourmaline briolettes, grade A large jade round beads and deep blue gold flake lapis lazuli nuggets. Of course I have to include my signature vintage touch and it comes in the form of this gorgeous gold-tone double rose brooch set with tiny glittery rhinestones. A peridot connector and beautiful large teal blue swarovski crystal pendant complement this earthy yet richly coloured piece :)

A Beaded Reign - SGD 120 - Sold

Fell in love with this vintage Haskellesque component with its many layers of faux pearl flowers, creamy mother of pearl shell disc and rhinestones. I added vintage gold-tone leaves and trails of assorted jade+carnelian+agate accents in varying earthy hues. The chain portion consists of hessonite, garnet, citrine rondelles wired together with gold-filled beads and vintage-inspired brassy gold filigrees. Necklace measures 22" long with the centre-piece being 4" at its longest.

Middle Kingdom - SGD 120 - Sold

A gorgeous vintage coral reef brooch pin set with amber crystals strung with strands of faceted red coral beads and forest green jade rounds. Handmade polymer beads by Karin feature a picturesque coral rose and leafy theme while a vintage-inspired czech sunflower bead, jade donut, cluster of semiprecious rondelles, large freshwater pearl and smooth carnelian coin beads complete this chinois necklace. 

Turandot - SGD 125 - Sold

A different take on the classic pearl necklace ~ I used an immaculate vintage Coro rose ribbon bow brooch in antiqued-silver tone and added 2 strands of lovely freshwater pearls in alternating ivory cream, oyster grey and golden sunny hues for contrast. Near the brooch are glittering moonstone briolettes, a cluster of keishi petal pearls and a yellow agate carved rose. Pretty sky blue amazonite nuggets, hematite rondelles and mother of pearl shell ovals complete the asymmetrical necklace. 

Necklace measures approx. 18" including the longer pearl strand and closes with a vintage-style sterling box clasp.

Jade Affinity - SGD 65 - Sold

Another pair of nothing but jade awesome-ness ~ jade rounds and even more lovely rounded jade donuts topped with faceted emerald rondelles and petite gold vermeil rhinestone flowers from gold-filled hooks. Earrings measure approx. 3.5 cm in length.

Double Happiness - SGD 158 - Sold

Deep green 双喜 jade and gold vermeil ear hooks set with double peach moonstone cabochons surrounded by tiny glittering rhinestones = Double Happiness ! This is my modern take on traditional jade -- bold clusters of deep red ruby, lapis lazuli, red garnet and tanzanite rondelles to bring out the green against the peach :)

An imperial update

Had a severe case of creative mental block recently so the release of new necklaces have been delayed for a while - thank you for bearing with me!

I currently have 4 (maybe 5) necklaces needing to be photographed along with a few more pairs of earrings. Hopefully a last minute inspiration spurt will help me to churn out 2 more necklace designs and then we'll be set!

Lady of Good Fortune - SGD 158 - Sold

Beautiful deep green jade carved with an abstract 福 character, meaning "good fortune" or "happiness", which I hope is what it'll bring to its wearer! The ear hooks are gold vermeil set with oval ruby cabochons surrounded by tiny cubic zirconias. The jade pieces are complemented by gemstone clusters of pink garnet, peridot, amethyst and tanzanite. Earrings measure under 3cm in drop length. The higher price for this piece is due to the more premium materials used so thank you for understanding!

Truly an ornate display of oriental charm and hands down my favourite piece from this ::Imperial:: collection. I've been meaning to do up more jade creations and couldn't be more pleased to come up with these dynasty-inspired pieces. Hope you like them too!

Bao Yu - SGD 88 - Sold

Stunning cz-accented gold vermeil hooks set with peridot cabochons are accompanied by pale jade donuts adorned with generous clusters of lavender amethyst, labradorite, tanzanite and freshwater pearls. Earrings measure approx. 4cm in drop length. Lush and romantic :)

Jade Orchid - SGD 59 - Sold

A quiet stunner, this piece features beautiful smooth grade A jade rounds from white gold-plated sterling cz-studded orchid motif ear studs. Classic simplicity at its best. Earrings measure approx. 3.5cm in drop length.

Plum Blossoms - SGD 58 - Sold

Rhodochrosite carved flowers, pale green jade donuts and clusters of agate rondelles in myriad shades of forest greens and woody hues. Ear hooks are gold filled with a single sparkly cubic zirconia accent. Petite and adorable at 3cm :)

Pink Peony - SGD 59

Handmade poetic mudan floral beads by Karin (last pair in this motif!) are embellished with rainbow moonstone briolettes and topped with rubies. Earrings measure approx. 3cm from cz-accented gold vermeil hooks.
