Good morning, sunshine!

I'm always on the lookout for realistic parchment and fabric roses :) And cute little strawberries too! These large peachy ones are a nice size for making wrist corsages i think... ooh now that's something else to think about... hmmm...

Private order of 3 bag charms ~

I finally finished a batch of private orders that stretched over a period of time (oops my bad) but here are some bag charms from the loot ~ I haven't done them in a while so it took some time to get back into the swing of bag charms. Hope their respective receipients will relish the thoughtfulness of the giver! :)

Rose Chinois - SGD 42 (only piece) - Sold

This is probably the epitome of "oriental rose-ness" with the carved coral rose and white oval cloisonne charm on 14k goldplated textured links. I've also added a gold vermeil heart charm, faux cinnabar butterfly, topaz-coloured swarovski chain and other bling accents for extra oomph. Toggle closure at 7" but may be lengthened or shortened ~

Misty Dust - SGD 35 - Sold

Latest update: I'm on for April's Maad! It's been a long time since I was last there but I'm glad to finally join them again! Maad has been a great platform for me to showcase my wares affordably and enjoy the experience of interacting with people whom I may have only encountered online. So yep, I can't wait to be there on the weekend of April 5-6 between 11am-6pm! Hope to see you there!

Meanwhile here's a little dainty to start the day ~ Beautiful blue flash labradorite onion briolettes topped with faceted shimmering moonstone rondells from sterling wavy tubes (drop is about 3.5cm).

Pardon the bad positioning in this picture on white background, I needed to angle them off-centre in order to capture the flash of these labradorite onion brios :p

anniversary dinner at Morton's

Yesterday we celebrated our wedding anniversary (so soon!) and we were able to enjoy this day with an extravagant meal at Morton's Steakhouse thanks to a very very generous friend who is now top of "my favourite friends of matt's" list haha. Ok just kidding. But with a bill of a few hundred bucks, you can imagine the extent of his generosity.

The service at Morton's was immaculate, matt had casually mentioned that it was our anniversary when he made the reservation as he'd hoped to get a nice quiet booth. It was just a casual remark so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find confetti on our table but menus pre-printed with our name on it? Priceless. At the end of the meal, we enjoyed their signature warm chocolate cake (divine!) on the house and had a picture taken and displayed in a Morton's photo folder as a keepsake. Though we certainly looked far from fetching after struggling for the longest time to finish the HUGE portions.

Maybe we've not been to fancy places much so we aren't in the best position to compare, nevertheless the service at Morton's was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. It probably didn't cost much to do the little things but it certainly made a deep impact on our dining experience there. We felt like royalty! And that's what great service is about :)

Good Friday's sunset

I've not noticed sunsets in a long time but somehow this Good Friday's sunset made me stand amazed at how the simple, the beautiful and sometimes overlooked things in life can still take your breath away. I'm not great at photography but I just wanted to share this sight from my bedroom window :)

More orders finished!

I was counting stock for April's Maad and was dismayed to find what a long way it still was from my target number of pieces! That, despite all my long eye-straining hours and major hoarding. Sigh. Good news is I'm slowly marking back orders off my list and here are some pieces I recently completed:
You hold my heart

This is a modified version of the Mercy necklace I did last year with a victorian hand charm and a handmade "pearl" word charm amidst the vintage white flowers .

Daniella

Commissioned for someone's birthday, someone sweet and petite I'm told :)

Wedding earrings lot

Michelle and Haydn are a lovely Australian couple we had the privilege to befriend during their few months in Singapore ~ They will be heading back home for their April wedding soon and I couldn't be more thrilled to have been approached to do up pink earrings for her bridesmaids and a pair of creamy ivory earrings for her full lace gown, which was described as victorian romantic somewhat reminiscent of Jane Austen's heroines. Doesn't it sound simply divine?

The best part was finding out that we had both got our bridal gowns from Margaret and our bridesmaid dresses from Olive Suite. Guess we really share similar (good) tastes! :) All the more I had to do her earrings heh. Ooh i'm really relishing doing wedding jewellery!

Wings - SGD 28 - Sold

Wings have always been a fixation of mine, guess it's the whole freedom flight appeal? Or maybe it's an overaged crush on the Angel character from X Men. Blond hair, white feathery wings? Totally goes!

Drops are 4.5cm (left) and 8cm (right) from 14k goldplated hooks ~ only 1 pair available since I only have 1 of this wing charm left!

Sultry Rouge - SGD 29 - Sold

Red. Black. Enuff' said.
My stock of cloisonne charms is slowly depleting so this is my last piece of cloisonne in this design with red/black stripes. Drops are 5.5cm (left) and 6cm (right) from 14k goldplated hooks ~

Little Magpie Rose

Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I needed to do something apart from jewellery just to perk me up so I thought of making my own little nesting birdie since I've been working loads with birds lately - I tucked this little magpie rose in a twiggy nest and filled it with glitter velvet leaves, paper scraps, assorted millinery and tulle, pearls, whatever little trinkets I had... and topped it off with a gorgeous vintage brooch I found in the quaint town of Tetbury in England. Even Matt thought it cheered the room up! :)

Pink Glitter - SGD 55 - Sold

Still in love with these cute pink topaz heart brios so they have been around for a bit :) ~ Here, I clustered goldfilled beads with swarovskis atop the pink topaz so it looks like a burst of stardust! Drop is 3cm from goldfilled swarovski-encrusted studs.

Sapphire Moon - SGD 45 - Sold

I've been alternating between simple and fancier designs but I've decided to list the gemstone pieces online while keeping the "strange" ones for Maad aha ~ Ok they are not that strange but I think they go together as a series so I'm keeping it that way :)

Sapphire Moon is a petite pair of classic danglies with these faceted sapphire briolettes under a cluster of shimmering moonstone rondells ~ drop is about 2cm from sterling swarovski -encrusted studs.

my inspiration this morning

I always wish I had more photos to share about my home and the crazy place I call workroom but dang I had to be one of those people the concept of organized chaos applies to. Really you wouldn't believe half the stuff I've got in the workroom! Such a hoarder, I am.

Still I could make do with a few pretty shots here and there just to pretend I'm playing a part in beautifying my work area haha. Just look at these gorgeous huge pink roses! I fell in love instantly with the soft pinks and corals that blend seamlessly to make the petals seem so real! *swoons* They go oh so well with this little straw basket I thrifted ~ Hmmm maybe they'll inspire me to come up with romantic pinky jewels today!
